How do I know if my bra is fitting correctly?
We all know how hard it is to find a good fitting bra, but it doesn’t have to be. Here at Fleur of England we pride ourselves on our expertise and knowledge of the female form and the fit of our bras. Over 60 years of combined knowledge goes into designing & producing the perfect fitting Fleur of England bra.
We want to share Fleur’s top three tips for ensuring your bra is fitting correctly.
ONE: Check your band!
The band should fit comfortably and sit straight across your back. Your bra band is what provides the most support, if your band is too loose this can affect the fit and not provide you with the most supportive fit.
If your band is riding up and the back, this suggests the size is too big and to go down a band size. If when you take your bra off you have deep red marks from your bra then this can suggest the band is too small and you should go up a band size.
TWO: It’s all in the Cups.
There are a few things to note when assessing the fit of the cups on a bra. Firstly, different bra styles have different types of under-wiring. Typically, balcony bra wires can sit closer together & higher up than a low-cut plunging style.
If you find the cups are digging in and your breasts spill out the cups this is an indication the cup size is too small and to try a bigger cup.
If the cups are gaping this suggests the cups are too big and to try a cup size smaller, this will help support and naturally lift.
THREE: Straps, Straps, Straps.
Straps play an important role in a comfortable, supportive-fitting bra. To ensure your straps are sitting correctly here are some things to watch out for.
Strap slips off the shoulder throughout the day? This suggests you need to tighten the straps. This helps support the band/cup & plays its part in creating a beautiful shape and fit.
In some of our designer bra styles, like the strap balcony bra & Curve boudoir Bra, Fleur has designed these straps with a converter clip which means the straps can comfortably be clipped together. This creates beautiful cleavage and is great for additional support for larger breasts.
As such an integral part of our wardrobes, it's important we take the time to gain the knowledge to ensure our bras are fitting perfectly.
