Finding the perfect bra shouldn't feel complicated.
Yet, after more than twenty five years designing luxury lingerie, one of the questions I am asked most often is surprisingly simple:
"How do I know I'm wearing the right size?"
The truth is that many women wear a bra size that isn't giving them the comfort, support or confidence they deserve. A beautifully crafted bra can transform how your clothes fit, how you carry yourself and, perhaps most importantly, how you feel.
At Fleur of England, every collection begins with fit. Before I think about colours, embroidery or silk, I focus on creating lingerie that feels as exquisite as it looks. How to find your size
Step One: Start with the Bra You Already Own
Before reaching for a tape measure, begin by looking at the bra you're wearing today.
Ask yourself:
- · Does the band ride up across my back?
- · Are the straps constantly falling down?
- · Do the cups gape?
- · Is there any overspill over the cups?
- · Does the centre front sit flat against my chest?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, it's likely your size could be adjusted.
Step Two: Measure Yourself
Fleur's Fit Tip
The band provides around eighty percent of your bra's support. Many women instinctively tighten their straps when a bra feels unsupportive, but it's usually the band size that needs adjusting.
The easiest place to start is with our online Size Guide.
Measure your underbust firmly with a fabric tape measure in inches before measuring around the fullest part of your bust while wearing a non padded bra.
These two measurements will provide an excellent starting point.
Remember, every lingerie brand fits slightly differently, particularly within luxury lingerie where fabrics, construction and craftsmanship vary.
Your measurements are simply the beginning of your fitting journey.
Step Three: Understand Luxury Lingerie Fit
One of the biggest differences between luxury lingerie and everyday lingerie is the quality of the materials.

Step Four: Understanding Embroidery
One question we are frequently asked is why our embroidered bras sometimes feel slightly firmer around the body.
The answer lies within the embroidery itself.
Unlike stretch lace, embroidery has much less natural flexibility. Although our bra wings incorporate tulle with mechanical stretch for comfort it has minimal stretch and has a firm fit around the body; the embroidered cups and front cradle create a beautifully supportive and sculpted fit.
Many women love this feeling because it offers incredible support and creates an elegant silhouette.
However, if you prefer a softer, more relaxed fit around the body, you may find increasing your band size while going down a cup size provides your perfect fit.

Five Signs Your Bra Fits Perfectly

Don't Forget Sister Sizing
Bodies naturally fluctuate throughout the year.
Hormones, exercise, travel and even the weather can all affect how your lingerie feels.
If one size feels almost perfect, sister sizing can often provide the answer.
For example, if you normally wear a 34D but would like a slightly looser band, you could try a 36C.
Likewise, if you'd prefer a firmer band, you may wish to move to a 32DD.
