Introducing Iris | Behind The Design

We're excited to introduce the first of our Autumn/Winter 2019 collections – Iris. Inspired by the Winter blooming flower of the same name, this collection is modern yet delicate, featuring classic French lace pieces. Iris is the perfect collection to take you from Summer to Autumn in luxury. We're going behind the design and talking to Fleur about her inspiration for the new season as well as sharing some of our favourite sets.

Design

When designing a new collection I always start with colours, for Autumn/Winter these tend to be darker and richer. This season I have been in pursuit of modern sensuality, what this means to the modern woman and how it looks and feels. My inspiration for Iris pulled together beautiful deep shades of blue before settling on the vivid rich shade of the iris flower. This season we’ve updated some of our our most-loved shapes in this beautiful shade of vivid blue for a powerful twist on our classic styles.

New Pieces

I'm excited to introduce a brand new style of brief this season. Our cheeky ouvert brief is a bestseller season after season so I wanted to update it and make it more modern and sensual. The addition of silk covered elastic straps at the sides makes this piece skimpier and sexier. The soft silk covered elastic feels comfortable to wear and creates a higher-cut style than our classic lace ouvert brief.

My Favourite Piece

The elegance of the Iris collection is continued into nightwear with the luxurious babydoll. Our bestselling Signature style babydoll is inspired by the classic slip dress and features a scooped neckline, delicate silk straps and a stunning hand-cut lace hem. This is one of my favourite pieces of the new collection as the vivid blue colour of the silk really catches the light and looks really opulent. This piece is perfect for lounging around the house in ultimate luxury, or even for wearing as outerwear and layering with a soft, oversized knit ready for autumn.
